Zippo petrol lighter. These are practical lighters that can produce a flame even in the presence of wind and are renowned for being among the few lighters that still use petrol as fuel. It is utilized through the combustion of its vapors, released through a wick drawing from a cotton ball that is soaked in it. The use of original Zippo petrol is recommended. A characteristic element of Zippo production from 1933 to today is the use of a code on the bottom and on the insert of each lighter, which identifies its year of production.

The current date coding system uses a letter and a two-digit number to identify the month and year of production.
