Balvenie Doublewood is the world's first experiment in double aging, first in ex-bourbon casks and finally in sherry casks. It is a sweet, smooth, and enveloping whisky: a 12-year-old with character and great drinkability.

The Balvenie was founded by William Grant in 1892 within the abandoned premises of the "Balvenie new house" mansion, which was derelict at the time. Production began on May 1, 1893, with a pure malt whisky, purely dedicated to the blending of Grant's blended whisky. In 1923, the distillery passed from William to his son John Grant, and it was thanks to him that The Balvenie managed to expand structurally and reach the levels of quality that still make it unique today.
