Some of the most popular pipe models feature barcode labels. Missuri Meerschaum has done this in recent years following demand from wholesalers who use UPC scanning devices for inventory and sales. Some other pipes bear the traditional factory label, and most of them feature a wooden cap at the bottom of the bowl.
