Some of the most popular pipe models have barcode labels. Missouri Meerschaum has done this in recent years at the request of wholesalers who use UPC scanning devices for inventory and sales. Some other pipes have the traditional factory label, and most of them have a wooden plug at the bottom of the bowl. Some of the newer pipes feature labels, such as the Stag label, created for the 155th anniversary. Cornel & Diehl pipes have C&D labels, as they are collaborative pipes.
